Mint chip green Halloween milkshakes decorated like Frankenstein with chocolate drip rim and striped black paper straws

These Frankenstein milkshakes are a no-bake, kid-friendly Halloween treat you can assemble quickly. Mint chip ice cream gives them a minty green base, and a chocolate drip around the rim combined with a few drawn-on features turns ordinary glasses into playful Frankenstein faces.

Ingredients for Frankenstein Halloween Milkshakes

  • Mint chip ice cream (about 1 quart)
  • Milk (about ½ cup)
  • Dark chocolate or chocolate wafers (¼ cup)
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Clear plastic or glass cups
  • Black permanent marker (for decorating)

Ingredients to make Frankenstein Halloween Milkshakes. Mint chip ice cream scoop, dark chocolate wafers, blue measuring cup of milk, frankenstein milkshake.

How to Make These Easy Frankenstein Halloween Milkshakes

Step 1: Melt the Chocolate

Warm the chocolate wafers in short intervals in the microwave at 50% power, stirring between intervals until smooth. Chocolate chips or fudge pieces also work — just melt until pourable but not too hot.

Step 2: Pipe the Chocolate on the Cups

Spoon the melted chocolate into a small plastic bag and snip one corner. Pipe the chocolate around the rim of each cup, squeezing more in places to create a natural dripping effect. Allow the chocolate to set and harden before moving on.

Step 3: Draw the Face

Once the chocolate has hardened, use a black permanent marker to draw Frankenstein-style eyes and a mouth on the outside of the glass. Draw after the chocolate sets so the marker doesn’t smear. If you need to remove marker from glass later, you can try tracing over it with a dry erase marker and wiping clean.

Step 4: Blend the Milkshake

In a blender, combine the mint chip ice cream and milk, adding a few drops of green food coloring if you want a brighter green color. Blend until smooth, then pour into the prepared glasses. Add a straw and any extra garnish you like — chocolate chips, whipped cream, or cookie pieces are all fun options.

These milkshakes are easy to customize: swap mint chip for lime sherbet, color vanilla ice cream and stir in crushed cookies, or adjust milk for a thicker or thinner texture. They make a festive addition to any Halloween party and are simple enough to make with kids (adult help recommended for the melted chocolate).
