Add this easy healing glowing skin smoothie recipe to your daily routine to reduce inflammation, bloat and improve your skin health!
Clean eating challenge is on. It’s going well — though I had a couple of beers during the week, I’m still keeping on track overall.
Before that little outing I made this smoothie — a refreshing anti-inflammatory green blend designed to support glowing skin, reduce bloating, and calm inflammation.

I’m a normal person with normal taste buds — I love a good treat and I don’t expect smoothies to replace a full meal. For me, smoothies are a convenient, nutrient-dense snack that boosts veggies and fruit intake. That said, last week I actually had this green smoothie for breakfast and it was a satisfying, energizing start to the day.
I prefer smoothies that are fresh and not overly sweet or thick. I usually save the bulk of my breakfast calories for something more substantial later, like pancakes, eggs and veggie wraps, or yogurt with berries and nuts. For smoothies I focus on ingredients that are nutrient-dense, antioxidant-rich, anti-inflammatory and detoxifying while staying relatively low in calories — and this recipe fits that criteria.
The flavor is fresh and bright — not a dessert, but a clean, energizing drink that makes me feel revitalized.
HEALTH AND BEAUTY BENEFITS
This recipe takes about 5 minutes and uses a handful of simple ingredients, but each brings beneficial properties for skin, digestion and overall wellness:
- Ginger: A versatile root with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. It supports digestion, liver function and adds a fresh, slightly fruity note.
- Lemon: Bright and alkalizing, lemons are rich in vitamin C which supports collagen synthesis. They also contain compounds that assist liver detoxification and add refreshing acidity to the smoothie.
- Spinach: Packed with carotenoids, chlorophyll and vitamins, spinach supports detox pathways, skin health and gut function.
- Flax seeds: High in fiber and omega-3s, ground flax helps support healthy digestion, aids elimination of toxins, and contributes to a better omega-6/omega-3 balance to help reduce chronic inflammation.
If you prefer a sweeter, creamier texture, add a frozen banana or a handful of mango chunks. That will soften the tartness and thicken the drink without dramatically altering the health benefits.
